Meet Our 2020/2021 committee!
Diana Ciurezu

president
I joined JLAP because I am very passionate about raising awareness for the barriers to legal aid globally. It is imperative to raise awareness for legal issues outside of our own environment and to help make a difference, big or small.
Arianna McGill
Vice president

My interest in JLAP is very much linked to my Brazilian roots. Living in Brazil has given me first hand insight into the injustices of legal access and inequality. The input of developed countries in solving this matter is vital and JLAP provides a platform where everyone can provide legal support.
Joel Crisp
Social secretary

As a student lucky enough to attend university to study law, I made it a mission of mine to make sure I helped those with less access. JLAP is an amazing group working hard to increase access to justice with the aim of alleviating poverty, I wanted to be a part of this and work actively to make change happen.
Chelsey knight

General Secretary
I joined JLAP because I have a strong interest in raising awareness of issues related to inequality and poverty. With first-hand experience of being part of a family that managed to escape poverty, I understand the struggle and am extremely passionate about working to raise awareness of poverty/inequality and working to prevent these issues. "
Ella Cashion
treasurer

JLAP interested me because it focuses on promoting access to justice, while alleviating poverty. I am passionate about raising awareness of these issues in order to create a change and contribute to something that could improve someone’s legal standing.
Tej Gokulsing
International relations officer

My name is Tejal Gokulsing and it is an honour to be the incoming International Relations Officer for JLAP. My interest in this pro bono project comes from my PAN African roots as a proud Mauritian, I want to connect with other people and help overcome the situation we face in Africa as aspiring lawyers.
Media Officer
Georgina Browning

I joined JLAP as media officer because I feel it is important to widen my own knowledge about current issues, whilst also helping to raise awareness among others and get as many people involved as possible.
